REDS from Logsaw
The Log-Saw REDS is a patented unit which allows you to sort the flow of rolls at the log-saw outfeed into two different conveyor levels and avoid bottlenecks in the flow to the wrapper machine.
The outfeed lanes of the log-saw, typically 2, 3 or 4 are interfaced with as many lanes entering the REDS and these lanes proceed on a mobile belt that can be positioned at the exit side on two different level, each level feeding a different wrapper present on the line.
During normal functioning conditions, the arm position change takes place exploiting the space between the end of a log and the beginning of the next one: in this way the REDS works as an extension of the log-saw without affecting its functioning but rather facilitating the work of the downstream wrapper.
The product partition on the two outfeed lanes takes place in an automatic way, according to the sensors placed along the line downstream: if one line is progressively filling up, the REDS automatically starts diverting the products to the other line, thus avoiding any bottleneck.
Because of its innovative scope, more than 100 REDS from log-saw made by Pulsar Engineering have already been installed around the world.
The use of the Log-Saw REDS ensures:
- Possibility of distributing the rolls’ flow exiting the log-saw over multiple transport lines without directly intervening on the product;
- Handling of rolls at the same speed as the log-saw, avoiding roll tipping;
- Increased line efficiency, limiting possible downstream stops;
- Ability to sort products both horizontally and vertically.
